Many people have done research in this area, including DNA research that disproves LDS history, and archaeology that shows there is a very significant absence of evidence for the claims of the Book of Mormon.

I am not going to address these here, as they are not the most useful points for conversation.

I am instead going to observe internal inconsistencies that exist within Mormon Scripture.

The source of these issues is the Bible that Joseph Smith had access to, the 1769 KJV, as he used this to learn scripture, he then quoted from this when claiming to be translating the Book of Mormon. The issue here is that there were errors in the 1769 KJV that therefore appear in the book of Mormon!
