The Book of Mormon is supposedly written over thousands of years by many authors, but was only found a couple of hundred years ago.

It contains many passages from the Bible, these passages were reportedly written in  Ancient Egyptian, but were translated perfectly by Joseph Smith.

However when he "translated" these Biblical reference, they translation was often EXACTLY the same as the translation of the Bible that he used growing up.

When translating from Hebrew (The language of the Old Testament) many filler words are added to make the text coherent to in English - these words are italicised in the KJV to show that they are not present in the original manuscripts.

Joseph Smith is therefore claiming that the ancient inhabitants of America used the same filler words as the men who translated the Bible in the 17th Century.
